Inspiration: Modern Lover Edit

‘Just let me say I do…”

Editorial submission from Melissah Mullen, The Flower Wonderer:

“I’d been itching to do another floral editorial shoot, one that was
completely different to our first shoot together in the sand dunes of
Anna Bay, Port Stephens. So when Felicity Cook Photography gave me the nudge I was there!

For our latest collaboration, Modern Lover, I wanted to change up the
vibe and show another side to my floristry style. I’m mostly known for
having a creative style that’s whimsical, floaty and meadow-like but I have
another side, one that’s minimal, sleek, sculptural and considered.

We’ve also been hearing from lots couples opting for luxe micro
weddings and elopements – asking for minimal but memorable floral
moments that are reflective of their style. This shoot was a visual way
to communicate to brides that want to celebrate spontaneous love! It
was about showing a sleeker and minimal side to nuptial floral design
whilst maintaining a connection to the The Flower Wonderers elevated
aesthetic.

A big part of what made this shoot possible was finding another
creative that gives you the trusting space and positive energy to go for
it. For me, this is Felicity Cook, a photographer that is also expanding her
style and body of work. We met on a job and instantly realised we could
work together on projects that would push each other beyond our
comfort zone and into new creative territories.

We shot against the urban harbour landscape in rare and glorious
sunshine and the day was magical!

So here we are, launching our Modern Lover Edit – a series of images
that celebrates the brave, non traditional approach to wedding style.”

The Flower Wonderer and Felicity Cook Photography are currently taking consults and bookings for 2023/24 so get in
